About Us
Welcome to Srikanth Neuro Centre
Neurology is a branch of medicine which deals with the diseases of the brain and its connections.
The brain is the mastermind of the body and it controls many functions which we perform. The nervous system consists of the brain and its connections, namely the spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles.
It has many functions ranging from the maintenance of consciousness, thought process, judgment, and memory to other basic functions such as muscle power, sensations, coordination, and gait. Special senses like vision, hearing, and taste are also controlled by the brain. Diseases that affect any part of the nervous system can affect the different functions of the nervous system.

Frequently Asked Questions
While not all neurological disorders can be prevented, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, managing chronic health conditions, avoiding head injuries, and staying informed about genetic risks can help reduce the likelihood of some conditions.
A neuropsychological assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning using standardized tests and procedures. It helps diagnose conditions like dementia, traumatic brain injury, and learning disabilities.
Physical therapy can help improve mobility, strength, and coordination. It is often used in the rehabilitation of patients with conditions like stroke, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease to enhance their quality of life and independence.
During your first visit, the neurologist will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, and perform a physical and neurological examination. They may order additional tests to help diagnose your condition.
Some neurological disorders have a genetic component and can be inherited. Conditions like Huntington's disease, certain types of epilepsy, and some forms of muscular dystrophy have known genetic links. It's important to discuss your family history with your neurologist.
